P1 – Revisions

My revisions process for the project one draft was very similar to all of the other times I went through the steps of my writing process. I began as I always do, finding a nice quiet place to do my work, and luckily my room was empty so I did not have to go far. I sat at my desk, and realized that it was very messy, so I cleaned of my desk to limit my distractions. Once my desk was cleared, I sat down and put on some music quietly in the background. After all this I was ready to start working, and I chose to begin by revising my mind map before revising my memo. I began by looking over the comments and constructive criticism that was given by my peers on the day of the in class workshop, and because I had this vital feedback, revising my mind map was very easy. The main problem that my peers said I had with my mind map was that I repeated a few rhetorical themes multiple times, so I consolidated some of the themes that I had repeated and I added new themes that my group partners helped me come up with. After I had finished this, my map looked like it was almost a finished product. I then moved on to the memo portion of the project, and my memo needed lots of work. My first draft of the memo was basically just an introduction, so I had to revise my introduction, and write the design rationale and conclusion. I thought it would be best to start by writing the design rationale and conclusion, and then reading over and revising the entire thing. The design rational was not hard for me to write, I just did my best to attempt to explain why I made my mind map look the way that it was. I then moved onto the conclusion and I realized that my introduction included a large portion of what my conclusion should be. Once I realized this I revised and moved a portion of my introduction to the conclusion, and added some more. After I had done this I read over and briefly revised it. Throughout this entire process I was very relaxed and I think I had a good process.
