There is a innumerable amount of purposes in which research is used. research can be used when writing a paper, like we are in class, or it can be classified as delving into new and unexplored scientific discoveries. The term “research” is extremely broad and I would classify research as any form of discovering and exploring new knowledge whether it be individual knowledge, or knowledge for the entire population. people conduct research for this very reason, they want to expand their knowledge. For our project, we will be expanding our knowledge of a very specific subject, but that is not what all research is like. Researches use different methods of research for many different reasons. One reason could simply be that they use different methods in order to get more results, or a wider range of results with different perspectives. In my life, I have not done a large amount of research. A few of the methods that I have used in my minimal experience would be exploring the internet, databases, and books. I have also done scientific research in school and college labs for the classes that I have taken and am currently taking. I think that these forms of research are most common among students in my position. There is not much about research that is confusing to me. I suppose if I had to pick one thing that I struggle with in terms of research is navigating and effectively using databases in order to obtain information. I just do not have very much experience using databases, so they can be a little bit confusing for me, but I hope and think that this is a problem that will not impact me as much in the future and I have used databases more and have more experience with them.
