Project 1 – Draft 2

I had no idea where to start with my second draft for out rhetorical ecology project, so I began by putting myself into an environment in which I could productively think and work. My roommate was not in the room, so I did not have to go anywhere to find a quite are to work. I sat down at my desk and put some relaxing music on quietly in the background. I also had a bag of chips and some water with me, so I decided to have a snack while I did my work, which helped me relax even more. Once I was all set up, I did not know where to start. I had my first draft for the mind map completed, but since we did not have class on Thursday I had no idea what to do next. I looked over what I had already done for my map, and any ways that I could improve it. There were a few things that I realized that if I changed, could make my map a little bit better, but I really had no idea what to do since I had not received any feedback yet. Since I did not know what to do with the mind map, I moved on to the memo portion of the project. I started the memo part of the project by coming up with my definition for what a rhetorical ecology is. For me, this was difficult and it took my some time to figure out how to formulate my thoughts and ideas into words that made sense. After this I talked about why I picked the topic that I did, and how I wanted to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Knicks basketball team. After this, I did not know what to do next because I was not sure if I did the mind map part of the project correctly, and I did not want to write the entire rest of the memo just to find out that I had done it wrong, so after this point I decided that I had done enough work for my first draft of the memo.
